Casemaker Investment for Pitreavie

Scotland-based Pitreavie Group has further demonstrated its ambition and intent in the corrugated packaging sector. Following a feature interview with Managing Director, Stephen Heslop, recently, the company has now confirmed it has placed an order for a new 924 FFG from JS Machine.

Group Manufacturing Director, Scott Alexander, travelled to CCE International in Munich to sign off on the deal. He met with Hans Wang, Senior Vice President of JS Machine and Managing Director of JS Europe.

The 924 FFG is planned to be installed in June, further enhancing Pitreavie’s capacity for corrugated packaging production. This recent purchase brings the total investment in its Cumbernauld facility to over £6m since it opened in 2020.

Alexander noted,  “This is our single largest machinery investment in the site to-date. It not only gives us the additional capacity for casemaking, but also enhances our print capability with five colours and rotary die-cutting in-line. This is an enviable addition to our already impressive line-up of converting equipment, giving the business a strong platform for our future growth plans, particularly in the food and drinks sectors in Scotland.”

He continued, “We are delighted to have agreed a deal with JS Machine and their UK agent, Sheet Plant Consultants Ltd, to supply the first flexo converting machine into the UK. It was great to meet up with Hans and the team from their European Headquarters based in Italy at the show.’’

Heslop added, “We look forward to completing the casemaker installation later this year, along with a new materials handling line and welcome any new enquiries for corrugated packaging as we further solidify our position as the most modern and efficient sheet plant in Scotland.”
