Founded in 2017 in western France by Jean-Claude Montassier, SMD (Stitching Machine Development) designs and manufactures high-performance industrial stitching heads for corrugated cardboard and food-grade wooden packaging. Built on over 40 years of expertise, SMD has developed the patented MASE 1500, a revolutionary maintenance-free stitching head reaching 1,500 staples per minute. Drawing on Jean-Claude Montassier’s experience, with over 700 machines installed in 80 countries throughout his career, SMD combines innovation, reliability and retrofit expertise to help manufacturers increase productivity while reducing maintenance costs.
