Welch Packaging acquire Northeast Box Co and subsidiary

Welch Packaging has acquired Northeast Box Company (NBC) in Ashtabula, OH. This acquisition includes NBC’s subsidiary, Paragon Packaging Products in Girard, PA, and expands Welch’s geographic footprint in the Mid-Atlantic. Specific terms of this agreement were not disclosed.

Founded in 1978, NBC is a well-known corrugated manufacturer in northeast Ohio. The company has a long-standing history of providing excellent products and service to customers. Ron Marchewka has led the business for over 40 years. He comments, “Welch Packaging shares many of our core values and we are excited to join a family-owned business. This move will enable us to vertically integrate with Welch’s sheet feeder system, bringing capabilities such as graphic packaging, digital printing, and bulk laminating to our local customers.”

Welch Packaging has built a reputation for excellence in the packaging industry, driven by a commitment to customer satisfaction, the associate experience, and safety. This family-owned business operates a network of corrugated sheet plants supported by its own sheet feeder system, with a focus on local customers. This is a strategic acquisition for the company, as it closes a geographic gap in the Mid-Atlantic following their previous acquisition in York, PA.

“We are excited to welcome Northeast Box and the Ashtabula community into the Welch family.” said Scott Welch, President and CEO of Welch Packaging, “With our shared culture and values, NBC will further our commitment to providing the Ultimate Corrugated Experience to customers in Ohio and the Mid-Atlantic.”
