VPK Packaging UK & Ireland has launched StackIT, a one-piece stackable corrugated packaging solution designed to simplify packing, logistics and retail merchandising by replacing traditional two-piece base and lid formats.
The solution combines product protection, stacking stability and shelf-ready presentation in a single corrugated pack. An integrated locking mechanism keeps products secure throughout handling, transport and in-store display, while supporting stacked retail fixtures. StackIT has already been introduced commercially, with the solution being used for an own-label chilled range supplied to a major UK grocery retailer.
“StackIT has been developed around a very real customer challenge. Many businesses are trying to reduce packaging complexity, improve fixture efficiency and make packaging easier to handle without compromising product protection or presentation,” said Simon Saunders, Head of Design, Innovation & Technical, VPK Packaging UK & Ireland.
Designed to accommodate products including pouches, jars, bottles, tubs, tubes and boxed goods, the modular format can be configured in crash lock, taped, envelope and kidney lock designs to suit different packing and display requirements.
According to VPK, replacing a two-piece pack with a one-piece solution can help reduce packaging components, simplify stock management, improve packing and palletising efficiency, and optimise material use. The fibre-based corrugated format is also designed for established paper and board recycling streams.
