VPK Group and Double A Holdings to develop Alizay site

Double A Holdings and VPK Group, in association with Inova Pulp and Paper, are set to convert the Alizay paper mill near Paris into a recycled paper based production site.

The mill, which currently produces graphic and writing paper, will be converted over the coming months. Although divesting of its paper production, Double A Holdings will retain the recently implemented 50MW green energy from biomass plant.

VPK will undertake the conversion and modernisation of the existing paper machine. Additionally, VPK will be installing a new corrugator, complete with Fanfold, specifically for producing e-commerce packaging.

Inova Pulp and Paper will implement a recycling plant for waste paper for the production of deinked pulp on the Alizay site. Bioenergie Alizay, which produces green electricity from biomass since January 2021, will provide a long term supply the decarbonated steam to IPP deinked pulp plant and to the VPK paper mill.

VPK has proven competence in running large conversion projects successfully, with its Blue Paper mill transformation in Strasbourg. Driven by the growth of the packaging market, VPK is continuing to anchor itself in France through the conversion of the Alizay paper mill. The mill’s output will primarily supply its own board plants in France and the UK.
