Voith Paper has completed a multi-million-dollar expansion and modernisation of its roll service centre in West Monroe, LA, increasing the facility’s size by nearly 50%.
The project, completed on 13 October 2026, represents Voith Paper’s largest recent investment in North America and includes additional production and service capacity, improved logistics and a dedicated training centre.
“West Monroe is a critical part of our position as the market leader in mechanical roll services,” said David Buchanan, President FRS North America, Voith Paper. “Maintaining that leadership position requires us to keep investing. It requires us to anticipate where the market is going, listen to what our customers need, and have the capacity and capabilities to deliver.”
The new Voith Paper Training Center will provide hands-on technical instruction for customers and employees across North America. Through a partnership with Louisiana Delta Community College and relationships with local schools, the facility will also support training and skills development for future industry professionals.
Construction began in September 2025, with the project completed on schedule and within budget. The expansion has created more than 20 new jobs, with recruitment for some positions continuing.
The West Monroe facility provides mechanical roll services for paper manufacturers, including roll rebuilding, grinding, balancing, vibration analysis, roll coverings and component replacements. It also carries out spreader roll rebuilding and repairs.
According to Voith, the expanded facility will improve service capacity, turnaround times and logistics for paper producers throughout North America.
