The organisers of the UK Corrugated Industry Trade Show 2026 (UKCITS26) have launched a major initiative aimed at encouraging more young people to explore careers in manufacturing, engineering, technology and packaging.
Taking place in Telford 6th-7th October, UKCITS26 will bring together exhibitors from across the UK, Europe and America, alongside businesses from the local region, creating a great opportunity for students, graduates, apprentices and educators to experience modern industry first-hand.
A key focus of the 2026 event is addressing the ongoing challenge of attracting new talent into manufacturing and engineering-related sectors. To support this objective, students and tutors from schools, colleges and universities will be invited to attend the Trade Show free of charge and participate in a dedicated student programme running across both days.
The programme will provide students with the opportunity to:
- See live machinery, automation and robotics demonstrations;
- Learn about careers in modern manufacturing and packaging;
- Explore apprenticeship, graduate and training opportunities;
- Meet professionals working in engineering, production, operations and business roles;
- Understand how companies operate across complex supply chains;
- Discover how technology, AI and sustainability are shaping the future of industry.
The event is particularly relevant to students studying Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Design, Marketing and Finance, offering a practical insight into the wide variety of careers available within today’s industrial sector.
In a further commitment to skills development, colleges and training providers delivering apprenticeship programmes are being offered exhibition space, enabling them to showcase opportunities and engage directly with employers and prospective apprentices.
UKCITS26 organisers said, “One of the biggest challenges facing our industry is attracting the next generation of talent. UKCITS26 provides a fantastic opportunity for students and educators to see modern manufacturing in action, meet potential employers and gain a better understanding of the exciting careers available across engineering, technology, business and packaging. We hope the event will inspire more young people to consider careers in these vital sectors.”
Attendance for students and tutors is completely free, and educational groups are encouraged to register early to take advantage of this unique industry experience.
