UFlex Limited, headquartered in India, is a manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions and supplies brands worldwide. With production facilities in India, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Poland, Egypt, the United States, Hungary, Nigeria and other international markets, UFlex combines an international presence with a focus on local customer needs. The company serves customers across numerous industries, including FMCG, pharmaceuticals, automotive and construction. UFlex’s packaging solutions are used in a wide variety of everyday products, such as food and beverages, cosmetics and household goods.

ASEPTO is the division of UFlex responsible for the production of aseptic liquid packaging products, such as milk and beverage cartons. It has recently commissioned two Boardmaster web flexographic printing presses from HEIDELBERG at its new facility in Ain Shokna, Egypt.
These machines are part of a total investment of $126m (€112.8m) to establish a facility for the production of aseptic packaging for the international market. The Boardmaster machines will enable ASEPTO to expand its production capacity by an additional 12 billion aseptic packages per year, bringing the total capacity of its facilities in India and Egypt to 24 billion packages annually.
With its investment in the Boardmaster system, UFlex is expanding its capabilities for packaging production.
“The decision to make this investment is based on our commitment to operational excellence and technological leadership in the industry,” said Ashwani Sharma, President & CEO, ASEPTO. “The highly automated Boardmaster machines offer exceptional productivity, consistently high print quality, and outstanding efficiency for high-volume production environments. This enables us to respond even more quickly to customer requirements while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.”

For ASEPTO, the installation of the two Boardmaster systems represents more than an expansion of its machine fleet. It is a strategic investment in the company’s future packaging production capabilities.
The Boardmaster was developed specifically to meet the requirements of modern packaging manufacturers. The web flexo printing system enables production speeds of up to 600 m/min, automated defect detection, reduced makeready times and an availability rate of up to 90%. Through automated job changes, process control and reduced downtime, packaging manufacturers can increase their overall equipment effectiveness.
“By choosing our Boardmaster technology, UFlex ASEPTO is sending a strong signal about the future of its industrial packaging production,” said Dr David Schmedding, CSO, Heidelberg. “The Boardmaster combines maximum productivity and quality with exceptional process stability. At the same time, this investment underscores the strong growth of Indian packaging manufacturers, their increasingly significant role in the global market, and thus their potential for the core business of Heidelberg.”
