The fully automatic corrugated strapping machine UCB from Mosca is now available with banding technology from ATS. The 20mm wide bands are especially suitable for sensitive products such as high-gloss printed boxes.
The UCB from Mosca also secures the product stacks automatically during banding. After the corrugated board stack has been placed, the machine takes over: it aligns the stacks from up to six sides. This means that banding of four and six-point boxes is also possible without any problems. The aligned stacks are then banded, bundled with a 20mm wide band, in such a way that the corrugated board is not damaged. Neither on the surface nor on the edges. The bands are welded using ultrasonic, which in turn ensures maximum energy efficiency.
The UCB’s self-learning teach function measures new products and automatically adjusts the machine to them. Subsequent stacks of the same type are banded gently and accurately. Customers can switch between banding and strapping at any time and remain flexible. Only a few steps are required to switch between banding and strapping.
- The machine shuts down fully automatically;
- The strapper is pushed out and the banding machine is pushed in;
- The machine starts and adjusts fully automatically to the new process.
The changeover is completed in just a few minutes and can be carried out, for example, during a product changeover on the upstream folder gluer. This means that the change does not cause any additional downtime. The good accessibility of the unit and roll allows maintenance and cleaning work.
