Two Eterna machines for Sherwood Group

UK-based The Sherwood Group has made a major £1.2m investment in new equipment. The first machine is a new foiling and embossing machine – the Eterna EFOIL 1060 Elite.

The £600,000 investment in the new hot foil stamper was made in response to the significant growth of its packaging division and an increased demand for high-end packaging. The new machine will allow the company to double its foiling capacity and deliver exceptional quality of finished products.

“The new machine will bring our foiling and embossing capabilities to a higher level in both quality and efficiency,” says Martin King, Group Operations Director. “It features 12 independent heating zones and the option of 4 dwell settings which will significantly improve quality of products with challenging foils and substrates. The machine has the advantage of a cross foil system which increases efficiency when foiling small areas, and a compactor for foil waste which helps with waste management.”

The new foiling machine will be fully operational by end of May 2022 at the Group’s BRCGS certified premises in Nottingham.

As part of a long-term strategic plan to offer the highest level of finishing capabilities, the Group has also made a £600,000 investment in an ECUT 1060 ELITE die-cutter. The new machine will complement Sherwood’s existing two die-cutters and increase manufacturing capacity and efficiency.
