Rengo Co., Ltd. has confirmed that its consolidated subsidiary Tri-Wall Limited and Tri-Wall’s subsidiary TRICOR Packaging & Logistics AG have completed construction of a new heavy duty corrugated plant in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in northwestern Germany, and it began operation officially at the end of November.
The new plant is a state-of-the-art corrugated plant equipped with cutting-edge technology including a fully automated internal transportation system and two automated warehouses. Additionally, the plant utilises photovoltaic and cogeneration systems, demonstrating environmental responsibility while diversifying energy sources.
Local governments expect the new plant to contribute to sustainable economic development in the region by providing local employment opportunities and human resource development. TRICOR is planning to employ more than 200 people at the plant.
On September 30, TRICOR invited guests such as mayors of the municipality and other local officials to the new plant and held a ceremony to celebrate the opening.
The operation of the new plant will enhance the supply system to deliver products more quickly and meet wider range of packaging needs in Europe. At the same time, this new plant further expands the Rengo Group’s global heavy-duty packaging business.
