TOU’s sustainable packaging for e-commerce

Award-winning London-based restaurant TOU has opened a takeaway shop dedicated to its famous Iberian Katsu Sando dish. TOU developed this dish into a premium DIY sandwich kit in response to the pandemic. They wanted packaging which protected the food stuff that was inside, but that also aligned and reflected their sustainable brand values.

TOU didn’t want throw-away packaging. Instead, they wanted a design which meant that the packaging could be reused for a different purpose once the sandwich had been eaten. TOU approached Kent-based Switch Packaging to consult and design for packaging which would complement their premium sandwich – and that also create a great first impression. Switch Packaging guided and advised TOU on their most suitable packaging materials, recommending corrugated for the box and for the sleeve without using excessive material.

“Switch nailed the design straight away. We have had so many comments on how great the packaging looks from people across the industry and have already recommended Switch to three different companies! Not just for the design, but Switch’s approach and customer service were brilliant, they really took the time to understand us and the brief. It was very important to us that the packaging matched the brand and Switch went the extra mile to achieve this,” said Ana Gonçalves of TOU.
