The global recovered paper market: what’s changing?

The BIR Paper Division has released details on its special session on Tuesday, 27 October 2026 (15.15 – 16.45) during the upcoming BIR World Recycling Convention & Exhibition in Malaga.

As the global recovered paper market continues to navigate changing fibre flows, evolving demand patterns and increasing logistical and trade challenges, the Paper Division session will provide a timely opportunity to take stock of the market and look ahead.

Under the presidency of Francisco Donoso, (DOLAF Servicios Verdes S.L.), the session will bring together experienced industry voices to share their perspectives on the latest developments and key trends shaping international recovered paper markets, including an update on DIWASS and the paper recycling industry’s reactions, followed by an interactivemarket roundtable with members of the BIR Paper Division Board.

Participants will have the opportunity to gain fresh market insights, hear different perspectives from across the industry and exchange views on the challenges and opportunities facing the recovered paper sector in a changing global market.

Open to both BIR members and non-members, the session is ideal for professionals looking to stay informed about international recovered paper markets while connecting with colleagues and industry leaders from around the world. Find more information here.
