Sun Chemical launches SunLit OptiPace sheetfed ink

Sun Chemical has launched SunLit OptiPace, the latest addition to its Pace technology platform for high-performance sheetfed printing.

The new ink builds on the company’s SunLit ProPace series, introducing enhanced pigmentation designed to provide greater colour strength, improved resistance and lower ink consumption. According to Sun Chemical, the higher strength enables printers to use lower ink film weights while maintaining colour consistency on high-speed sheetfed presses.

SunLit OptiPace is designed to reduce misting and support lower dampening levels, shorter make-ready times and faster post-print conversion. The ink can reduce water settings by between 10% and 20% compared with standard conventional sheetfed inks, supporting faster drying and helping to reduce waste and downtime. Its low-tack formulation is also intended to provide reliable performance on lower grammage and more challenging substrates.

SunLit OptiPace is vegetable oil-based, contains up to 80% bio-renewable content and is formulated without PTFE wax. Sun Chemical said the new product is intended to combine improved press performance and lower ink consumption with reduced environmental impact.
