Sun Chemical has confirmed it has expanded its direct food contact (DFC) ink portfolio with the launch of SunPak DFC inPace for folding carton applications and nine new base colours for its AquaSafe water-based range.
SunPak DFC inPace is a sheetfed offset ink system designed to support recyclable packaging structures by enabling the elimination of plastic laminates and inserts. Manufactured at Sun Chemical’s Badalona Centre of Excellence, the system offers direct food contact compliance, high bio-based carbon content verified through Carbon-14 testing and the potential to reduce material usage and production steps.
The company has also added nine base colours to its AquaSafe water-based DFC ink portfolio, including a new food-compliant green pigment. AquaSafe is suitable for substrates including paper, paperboard, flexible films and aluminium foil, with the expanded colour gamut intended to provide greater design flexibility and colour accuracy.
