WEIG Group has confirmed that as of February 1, Mike Petersen has joined Xaver Weig in overseeing the European packaging market and driving the strategic development of the corporate group.
With over 30 years of experience in the paper and packaging industry, Petersen (pictured left) brings extensive expertise in market expansion, business development, and international sales structures. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of the Mayr-Melnhof board mill in Gernsbach.
With this decision, Moritz J. Weig hands over the operational management of the board mills and will focus more on the strategic advancement of the WEIG Group.
“With his market expertise and strategic foresight, Mr. Petersen will play a key role in strengthening our position in the European packaging market.” said Xaver Weig.
