Stora Enso launches AvantForte WhiteTop

Stora Enso’s new 100% virgin fiber-based kraftliner, AvantForte WhiteTop, is now commercially available. The white top kraftliner targets demanding premium segments, such as fresh food, e-commerce and shelf-ready packaging.

AvantForte WhiteTop kraftliner is engineered to meet brand owners’ need for safe, high-performing, and plastic-free packaging. The new product will serve end-uses that require exceptional strength, purity, and visual appearance. Through Stora Enso’s patent-pending technology, Tri-Ply™, the product is equipped with three fibre layers to maximise its strength and help converters and brand owners use less material than with traditional kraftliners.

“The accelerating shift from plastic to renewable packaging in fresh foods and e-commerce is increasing the demand for high performing kraftliners,” says Oscar Duarte, Business Segment Director, Kraftliners. “Our AvantForte WhiteTop product has outstanding visual appearance and print qualities to help brand owners enhance the consumer packaging experience. With this high-end product now commercially available, we look forward to supporting our customers in expanding into new premium segments and end-uses.”

In addition to Avantforte WhiteTop, Stora Enso previously offers its natural-coloured AvantForte Brown product.

AvantForte WhiteTop™ is a 3-layer structured, 100% virgin fibre, OBA-free kraftliner for corrugated packaging. It is ideal for demanding applications where high-quality print is needed in combination with strength and purity such as fresh food packaging, high-end e-commerce packaging and shelf-ready packaging. AvantForte White Top is produced at Stora Enso’s Oulu mill in Finland, which in 2021 completed a conversion from paper to kraftliner production.
