Staff Promotions at MHIA

Two new staff promotions by the Corrugating Machinery Division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America (MHIA) will build upon the company’s customer service support.

Darrold Phillips has been promoted to Vice President, Service. He will oversee the Customer Service, Parts Sales and Rebuild Departments to ensure timely and appropriate resolution to customer requests. Phillips, a 20-year industry veteran, joined the company in 2002 as Field Service Engineer, and has served in increasingly responsible positions, including Customer Service Engineer; Manager, Customer Service; and Director, Customer Service. Prior to joining MHIA, he worked for United Container as Parts Sales Representative and Customer Technical Support and, earlier, as Field Engineer at Langston Corrugated.

Ryan Murphy has been promoted to Manager, Customer Service. Murphy joined MHIA in January 2017 as a Customer Services Engineer. In that capacity, he worked with customers across North America, collaborating with the Field Service Engineers to work on more than 130 EVOLs and corrugating machines. Murphy also trained new employees in reading mechanical and electrical drawings, conducting proper customer communication, and understanding the design and function protocols of EVOL.

“It’s my pleasure to announce the promotion of Darrold to Vice President, Service and Ryan to Manager, Customer Service. Their leadership will help us continue to deepen and optimize our customer services,” said Masaaki Matsumoto, General Manager, MHIA Corrugating Machinery Division. “Darrold’s more than two decades of global corrugated industry experience equip him with great insight in providing timely, first-class services to our customers. Furthermore, Ryan’s exemplary track record at MHIA enables him to lead our team’s critical ‘Customers First’ ethos.”
