Inaugurating its latest corrugator, Smurfit Kappa North America is further strengthening its presence in northern Mexico, following an investment of $23.5m at its plant in Nuevo Laredo (as reported in June 2022).
The company says the Nuevo Laredo plant is the first fully integrated corrugator in the country’s northeast region. The new corrugator and its enhanced output will boost the supply for industries in Nuevo León, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, and the south of San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and McAllen (Texas).
“With this inauguration, we confirm our commitment to the country and the state of Tamaulipas,” said Juan Pablo Perez, CEO, Smurfit Kappa North America.
