Smurfit Kappa picks up six Worldstar awards

Smurfit Kappa recently won numerous Worldstar Packaging awards for its innovative designs. Six awards were achieved, in the categories of point-of-sale, transit, luxury, electronics and beverages.

As Smurfit Kappa continues its initiatives on sustainability, the company addresses this challenge by eliminating as much plastic as possible, while reducing packaging size, packaging complexity and ensuring product safety. The ‘Hot savings in Dražice’ award-winning design (pictured above) features a mono-material cardboard solution that protects the product with a clever one-piece insert, eliminating Polystyrene packaging and reducing CO2 emissions.

Smurfit Kappa won an award for it’s bag-in-box (BiB) packaging for wines, spirt and juice tastings. This innovative BiB design is environmentally friendly, FSC certified and made of 100% recyclable material. They also designed a luxury flower box that provides the customer with an excellent unboxing experience, and also enhancing the brand perception and stimulating repurchases.
