SMP Group PLC has recently installed and commissioned a Packline gluer from Lamina System AB.
This investment is part of SMP Group’s strategic focus on productivity and continuous improvement. The Lamina Packline, launched in 2024, automates the traditionally manual and labour intensive process of gluing flat collated corrugated POS packs (FEFCO 402). By gluing and sealing a pack every 12 secs, the machine delivers significant efficiency gains, consistent quality, and improved protection, while reducing waste and labour costs.

A key differentiator of the Packline is its innovative design: it is completely set-up free. Packs of varying sizes and thicknesses can be fed randomly, without manual adjustments, as long as they remain within specification. Optional features include an inkjet print head for pack identification and the Lamina 4.0 management information system for real time monitoring.
