Siegwerk has confirmed that its global operations were powered by 100% renewable electricity in 2025, marking another milestone in the company’s sustainability strategy.
The achievement supports Siegwerk’s long-term decarbonisation goals under its HorizonNOW 2030 sustainability agenda, which focuses on sustainable procurement, sustainable operations and sustainable products.
Since beginning its transition to renewable electricity in 2021, Siegwerk has expanded its use of green energy worldwide. The company first achieved 100% global renewable electricity coverage in 2023 and has maintained this level for three consecutive years through a combination of measures, including on-site solar installations, renewable energy tariffs, renewable energy providers and the purchase of unbundled energy attribute certificates.
“Operating on 100% renewable electricity worldwide is an important milestone for Siegwerk and a strong signal of our dedication to climate action,” said Alina Marm, Head of Global Sustainability, Siegwerk. “Having ensured this coverage for the third year in a row is a strong sign of continued commitment—not just a one-time action. One of our key ambitions is to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 60% by 2030 compared with 2020, while ensuring 100% renewable electricity coverage every year. To achieve this, we are continuing to build on our long-standing efforts beyond renewable electricity coverage by further driving energy efficiency, operational improvements and behavioural change initiatives.”
As part of its sustainability ambitions, Siegwerk aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 60% by 2030 compared with 2020 levels, while maintaining 100% renewable electricity coverage annually. To support these targets, Siegwerk has established a dedicated green fund to accelerate sustainability and emissions-reduction projects across its global operations, including investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.
