Schumacher hits €1.2bn in 2022

The Schumacher Packaging Group has successfully continued on its growth path in 2022, recording sales of €1.2bn for the period.

The company reported that despite high volatility and difficult economic conditions on the world markets, it was able to increase annual sales, after sales reductions by almost 40% compared to the previous year, to around €1.2bn. The development of new product fields and strategic decisions were decisive for the strong growth. Nevertheless, Schumacher Packaging is concerned about the development of Germany as an industrial location. The family business is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

“The sales target of €1bn was clearly exceeded across all areas of the group,” said Björn Schumcaher, CEO (pictured left). “Against the background of increased energy prices, high inflation and declining consumption, which shaped the market with the outbreak of the war against Ukraine, the sales remained almost constant compared to the previous year. No growth could be achieved in the primary business areas. The growth in sales was largely achieved through the acquisition of additional plants and the development of new product fields in the field of plastic reduction, especially for the food industry, but also online trading.”

The number of employees rose from 3,700 to 4,111 in the past calendar year.
