Scatolificio Ceriana, a family-owned corrugated packaging provider, has confirmed the installation of an HP PageWide C550 press in their Verona facility.
Scatolificio Ceriana’s decision to invest in the C550 press was driven by a range of business objectives. The company sought to manage its job mix more effectively, tackle customisation needs, and tap into new applications in the food and beverage market. The C550’s water-based technology allows Scatolificio Ceriana to offer sustainable, recyclable, and compostable packaging solutions, meeting stringent industry standards.
“We are incredibly excited about this new addition to our technology arsenal,” says Marco Barichello. “The HP C550 allows us to combine innovation with sustainability, a combination we have long strived for.”
The addition of this press to Scatolificio Ceriana’s existing equipment will allow the company to target litho-lam applications and improve the existing HQPP flexo presses efficiency. This complementary approach allows for an optimised production process that leverages the strengths of both digital and flexo printing. This harmonious integration effectively broadens the company’s operational scope and flexibility, allowing Ceriana to cater to a more diverse range of clients and market demands.
Giovanni Barichello adds, “This is not just a business decision; it’s a commitment to our values. The HP PageWide C550 press will help us offer superior service to our clients while aligning with our responsibility to protect the planet.”
“Italy is an important sub-region for HP, with multiple installations of both post and pre-print solutions,” says Mark Dempsey, HP PageWide Industrial WW GTM Director. “The Italian market is an innovative and competitive one. We are pleased to see that also medium-sized companies, like Scatolificio Ceriana’s understand the value and importance of digital to the future growth of their business. The C550 announced earlier in the year, with its enhanced speed of 90 lm/min, allows our customers to set new standards of quality and service to their brands.”
