SBL Machinery launches new die-cutter and redeveloped foil stamping platen

SBL Machinery had planned to show two new machines at drupa. First was the latest generation die-cutter. Completely re-developed from the ground up, it has an all new impression system offering stable and even cutting pressure at higher speeds compared to any other model currently offered by SBL. The HMI touchscreen control allows the operator to adjust and monitor jobs during production. With pneumatic chase locking and thin plate lower cutting system, the machine has micrometric adjustment and centre-line throughout. This allows users to quickly make ready jobs, with minimum downtime. Also, quick-lock cutting chase and stripping frames are standard.

Also new is the redeveloped foil stamping platen. With six individually programable longitudinal foil drives as standard, it allows users to have much more control of foil usage. This machine also benefits from HMI touchscreen control. Pneumatic chase locking is also standard, along with the micro adjustable lower cutting plate.

Both models come with OS and DS push/pull side lay as standard, both with optical photoelectrical sensors. The feeder, on a dual axis, has duo alignment, with motorised lateral adjustment. This allows easy sheet alignment and transfer to front lays (material range from 0.1mm to 2mm, corrugated 4mm). A double sheet and unstable sheet detection system prevents mis-feed. Also, a new function is available as an option. A servo drive device allows single sheet feeding at high speed (aimed predominately at the corrugated market). All models also benefit from continuous feed capability.

Supplying the UK print and packaging markets since 1994, SBL manufacture a range of robust, well engineered flat bed die-cutters. Using electrical components sourced from leading European manufacturers such as Schneider and SICK, all SBL machines are built to an excellent standard approved by some of the worlds strictest Health and Safety bodies. It has also recently achieved ISO14001: 2015 accreditation from the German organisation DQS GmbH.
