RH Fibreboard adds ‘Big Box’ capabilities

Hot on the heels of the £2m investment in a Weipong casemaker with Emmepi strapper and materials handling line in 2021, Somerset, UK-based RH Fibreboard is well underway in the next part of its expansion project.

The company has confirmed it has taken on an additional 26,000 sq ft of factory space nearby, where it is installing a two colour Weipong 1636 flexo printer with rotary die-cutter, a Gazzella Atlantique TO6400 two piece stitcher and an LY3600 two piece gluer. The focus of the new factory will be for the production of heavy duty, large format packaging.

“With this new set up, we are going to be offering shorter run, large format packaging with service features which we believe could be unrivalled in the region,” explains Steve Gabell, Sales Director. “RH Fibreboard is well known in the south-west for being able to cater to a wide range of smaller format corrugated packaging for things like food and drink, but this move into ‘big boxes’ will set us apart from many of our competitors.”

“Once again, we are working closely with David Williams and GTS Europe for the supply of these new machines,” adds Sean Baxter, Managing Director. “The new machines we installed at our main factory last year are performing well and we are looking forward to seeing the additional equipment come into action for our ‘big box’ project, which is all helping with the upward trajectory for growth within our business.”
