Repeat Valmet IQ order from Thai Containers

Valmet has confirmed it will supply a Valmet IQ quality control system to SCGP‘s corrugated board box plant in Navanakorn plant, Thailand. The system will enable the plant to improve corrugated board quality, reduce rejected paper caused by warped board and improve plant productivity. The start-up of the system is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022.

Thai Containers Group is a joint venture between Rengo Co., Ltd and SCGP. The company is working to serve as the ASEAN leader in the packaging industry with top-tier production capacity and a number of production bases in various locations across the region.

The order is a repeat order to SCGP, followed by a successful Valmet IQ quality control system at their Ratchaburi plant’s 1.9m wide corrugator. The system was started up in late 2020, and since then, the plant’s total productivity and corrugated board quality have been improved.

“We always want to meet our customers’ quality requirements, which drives us to pursue the latest technology of improving product quality consistently. We’re happy to continue collaborating with Valmet on the quality improvement,” says Jesda Assavarungsi, Manager – Production Department, Thai Containers Group Co., Ltd. in SCGP.

“We have good cooperation with SCGP. Based on the positive experience of the previous delivery of the IQ quality control system, and the performance improvement of corrugated board quality and productivity, SCGP decided to select our quality control system again for its Navanakorn mill,” says Thossapon Arunsaengsuree, Sales Manager, South East Asia, Automation, Valmet.
