Remous Print acquires Stevens Boxes

Yeovil, UK-based box and packaging manufacturer Stevens Boxes has become part of Remous Print, with effect from 1st November 2022.

Stevens Boxes can trace its beginnings back to 1896, when it was incorporated to manufacture packaging for Yeovil’s glove manufacturing industry. It eventually came into the ownership of the Stockwell family, with three generations having worked in the business, with both Peter and Richard Stockwell operating the company for the last 30 years like their father and grandfather before them.

Steven’s Boxes has a strong base in plain cartons and printed cartons, supplying many local and national brands and the synergy between the two family businesses soon became apparent.

“When I first approached Peter, we soon found many of the company values were similar, client-focused, quality first, and in-house production. I wanted to see the Stevens Boxes name continue for many years to come having been around for over 125 years so far,” says Alan Bunter, Managing Director, Remous Print.

As part of Remous Group, the company will move it’s manufacturing to the newly built Remous Print Facility in Sherborne. Remous built the 12,000 sq ft premises in 2019, as the owners wanted to create a print specific ‘smart factory’ combining its three sites.

“Covid has been a challenge for many businesses, ours included but we are fortunate to have a great team, great machinery and great customers, and with Stevens Boxes becoming part of our company we can further grow our packaging production,” concludes Bunter. “The investment sees the arrival of another die-cutter, which will add capacity for printed and plain box production.”
