Coipsa is moving forward with the construction of the future Recupac plant in Quilicura, Chile, a strategic project that will allow it to double its operational capacities and support the organisation’s growth over the next few years.
The new facility will cover approximately 22,000 sqm and will integrate various waste recovery processes, including the baling of materials such as cardboard, liquid packaging board, paper, PET, stretch film, other plastics, aluminium cans, and a wide range of recyclable containers and packaging . It will also feature a Lindner-Erema pelletising line , capable of producing up to 500 tons of recycled pellets per month , transforming plastic waste into new raw materials for industrial applications.
“This new plant represents an important step towards a more sustainable industry. We aspire for Recupac Quilicura to become one of the most modern waste conditioning and recovery plants in the country,” said Philippe Morizon, General Manager, Recupac Coipsa.
The project represents a new step in Coipsa’s growth strategy and in the consolidation of its integrated circular economy model, which connects the recovery of waste with the production of recycled raw materials and the development of new packaging solutions.
“The location of the new plant in an industrial area of Quilicura will also improve the connectivity and logistical efficiency of the operation, along with offering safer and more reliable service for carriers, suppliers and customers,” concludes Morizon. “With this investment, Coipsa continues to advance in its purpose of reinventing the packaging industry through the transformative power of the circular economy , strengthening an integrated chain that allows materials to remain in circulation.”
