Pro Carton launches EduCarton resources to help with home-schooling amid COVID-19 crisis

With many schools across Europe shut or partially closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, Pro Carton has launched a brand new home-schooling initiative: EduCarton. The complete package of educational resources aims to assist parents during the lockdown in teaching their children about the environment and the benefits of cartonboard. All online support materials are available in several languages to download for free here.

The online collection includes a variety of printable activities for younger children. Worksheets available include a ‘colour by numbers’ solved by multiplication, and a number of cartonboard cut outs that children can then play with.

These Educarton resources are themed around the recently launched Carton Campaigners: five cartoon characters that illustrate the 5Rs of Responsibility. The characters were created to explain the five actions that will help us achieve a circular economy – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Renew and Replace.

EduCarton also encompasses Pro Carton’s recently launched TICCIT (Trees into Cartons, Cartons into Trees) at Home programme. The online support materials for TICCIT at Home aim to educate children about sustainability and renewability, before showing them how to plant a tree sapling (or a cutting or seeds) inside a biodegradable carton and then into the ground. All online support materials are available in several languages to download for free here.

Tony Hitchin, General Manager of Pro Carton said, “We are delighted to launch even more online resources to help parents continue their children’s education during this difficult time. From crafting to maths, we have produced several different options for children to learn about the environment and the importance of cartonboard in a fun and accessible way. With the help of The Carton Campaigners, we hope to put a smile on children’s faces across the continent!”
