Trade printer, Precise Digital Printing Graphics, has invested in a new Scodix Ultra 2000 Digital Enhancement Press, bringing a wide range of embellishment choices to customers, adding impact to their printed applications with Scodix embellishments such as foil, glitter, metallic, braille, spot UV, and cast-and-cure embellishments to printers in the U.S., particularly in the Chicago area.
“It’s just amazing what this Scodix press can do and the fact that we can spot UV and foil stamp sheets as large as 21″ x 31” is game changing,” says Kevin Grouwinkel, V.P. The Scodix Ultra 2000 press incorporates the whole range of Scodix embellishments and comes with an automated mechanism enabling operators to switch between polymers rapidly and simply. This allows operators to quickly adapt to whatever print job comes in from customers, whatever the level of ink coverage or substrate chosen, and for the business to future proof – leaving the door open for polymers suitable for food compliance or security measures. Rapid polymer switching also allows PDP to maximize its performance and productivity as the company expands its customer base, offering new services around customized and short-run embellishment.
A wholesale supplier of full color signs, banners, graphics and point-of-purchase displays, Precise Digital Printing will extend the capability of embellishing print to its customer base of large litho houses, print franchises, large format printers, and display companies. From prototyping to full production runs, the Scodix press will embellish print from PDP’s three HP Scitex printers, providing a perfect complement to its existing services, positioning the company to grow its market share.
