PolyMX introduces Shore A10

PolyMX have introduced Polytop MX Shore A10, a soft ejection material for use with recycled corrugated board.

More and more companies are switching to the use of recycled board to make their production process more sustainable. However, existing ejection materials are often too hard for these easily damaged paper types, so the desired quality is not achieved. After two years’ development, PolyMX has now succeesfully launched Shore A10, which is suitable for both rotary and flatbed dies and is available in heights of between 7 and 16mm. This solution will enable packaging converters to supply top-quality products, while still satisfying all the recycling requirements and sustainability goals.

The company says that the biggest advantage of the softer material is the reduction of cracking along the inside lines. In addition, even with this Polytop MX® variant, the lower hardness of the ejection material does not mean a shorter useful life; it is just as long-lasting as the harder material variants. Furthermore, the lighter weight means a saving on transport costs.

Melissa Monster-van Golverdingen, Director of PolyMX explained, “We are extremely proud of the result. After two years of research work, we have succeeded in developing a material that will enable our users to deliver perfectly finished products to their customers. We always aim to help our users achieve their goals; one of the ways we do this is by constantly coming up with ground-breaking products and services. Shore A10 is our latest contribution, and initial reactions from the market have been extremely positive.”
