Pakform install Ireland’s first MultiNova

Pakform Ltd of Little Island, Co Cork has recently installed a Kolbus Autobox MultiNova MN400 folder gluer. This is a significant order fro Kolbus Autobox, as it is the first machine of its type to be installed in Ireland.

The decision to go with the MultiNova was based on the requirements for quick set-up time, automatic feed, modern gluing technology and short machine footprint. This together with the latest safety guarding system made this machine the perfect choice.

For more than thirty years Pakform have been supplying bespoke and stock corrugated boxes and die-cuts. They have built a reputation for customer service and quality with an emphasis on making strong boxes with minimal waste.

The Kolbus team installed the machine and handled customer training. By day two Pakform operators were running the machine at 1400 boxes per hour. This was two to three times the speed of their historic gluer and with excellent quality finished boxes.

Ed Casey, Managing Director, Pakform, said, “There was nothing the machine would refuse, it performed even better than I expected. It was quick to set up and flexible for short and medium run lengths. You could pick and choose the best way to run each job, sometimes a 90% fold, others 50% and sometimes we could run the product flat if easier.”

Casey concludes, “We ran a number of varied jobs during training; a tricky 50mm height die-cut box, a large 2300 x 800mm case and a tall box with a height of over 1200mm, all of which we knew would test the machines capabilities. We ran them all at a good speed and quality.”
