Ondupack has opened a new corrugated packaging production plant in Navalmoral de la Mata, Cáceres province in Spain, having invested €49m in the project. The plant’s first shipments will be exported to Morocco, with plans to expand into other international markets.

Located on a 60,000 sqm site within the Expacio Navalmoral industrial zone, the new facility complements Ondupack’s existing plant in Almendralejo. It has an annual production capacity of over 200 million sqm of board and 600 million boxes, primarily serving the agricultural and industrial sectors. At the heart of the new facility is a Fosber S/Line 420 2.8m corrugator; materials handling throughout the site was supplied by Emmepi Group.

“After a year and a half of dedicated effort, we are proud to announce that our new plant in Navalmoral de la Mata is now a reality. Countless hours have been invested in this project since its inception, but it has all been worth it,” says Fernando Javier Tolosa Perez, Director General at Ondupack.

The plant focuses on sustainability, using fully recyclable paper and eco-friendly processes to minimise waste and promote greener transportation methods. Ondupack projects that the new facility will generate an initial annual revenue of between €15-80m.
