Morrisette Packaging to add two Koenig & Bauer corrugated machines

Morrisette Packaging, a third-generation family-owned company, is positioning itself well in the North American high graphics corrugated market by investing in two new Koenig & Bauer corrugated machines. The Koenig & Bauer Omega Magnus 230 folder gluer is arriving at Morrisette’s Greensboro, NC facility in October and a Koenig & Bauer ChromaCUT High Tech eight-color rotary die-cutter will be commissioned in April 2026, marking both to be the first ever to be installed in North America.

“We bought the machines together and will have succeeded in creating something no one else in this industry…or on this continent has,” says John Morrisette, President. “The Koenig & Bauer Celmacch brand is an extremely impactful name around the world, and we quickly discovered their machines were some of the best in the industry.”

With the recent addition of its high graphics corrugated manufacturing division, Morrisette Packaging has the ability to design stunning graphics, create innovative structures, automate processes, customize foam, and now manufacture digital or flexographic printing, gluing, cutting, and delivery – all in-house.

The two keystone machines for its new high graphics manufacturing operation are from Koenig & Bauer. The Koenig & Bauer Celmacch ChromaCUT High Tech eight-color rotary die-cutter is a major investment in itself but Morrisette Packaging made the decision to invest in a second Koenig & Bauer machine – the Omega Magnus 230 folder gluer. The company’s pressroom also includes a digital printer, digital die-cutter, a flatbed die -utter, and a fully autonomous conveyance system.

The Morrisette team discovered the Koenig & Bauer equipment at drupa 2024 and completely vetted it before signing the contract. “In my four decades in the corrugated industry, I’ve never seen anything like it,” says Kevin O’Brien, Morrisette’s director of manufacturing. “My expectations were exceeded. The machinery would allow Morrisette Packaging to indeed fill a niche in the market.”

Since its founding in 1962, the company has evolved from being a distributor of paper bags, foil liners, and tissue paper into a full-service packaging partner centered around packaging design and design thinking.
