Mondi releases Sustainable Development Report 2022

Mondi Group has releases its latest Sustainable Development Report 2022.

“The sustainability challenges that we face as a global society can sometimes feel overwhelmingly daunting,” says Gladys Naylor, Group Head of Sustainability, Mondi. “The recent report from the IPCC was a sobering reminder of the scale of change that is necessary to keep the global temperature rise below the 1.5C limit. We see reports in the media that remind us how far we are from having diverse, equal and inclusive workplaces as the norm. The increasing demand on our planet for resources and the need to deliver sustainable solutions for our customers is set against a backdrop of the critical importance of halting biodiversity loss.”

In the Sustainable Development Report 2022, Mondi shows the progress achieved against commitments – including:

  • 82% of revenue generated from reusable, recyclable or compostable products;
  • 17% reduction of absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions (against 2019);
  • 80% renewable fuels used in our mills;
  • €8.9 million social investment.

“We know that there are still challenges we need to overcome and areas where our progress is slower than we would want it to be – but the great progress we are making is testament to Mondi’s commitment to be ‘Sustainable by Design’,” concludes Naylor.
