Mondi exchanges knowledge

Mondi recently hosted a seminar for its containerboard customers from 18 different companies in Queretaro, Mexico. The session covered containerboard market trends, an overview of the papermaking process, paper and corrugated board parameters, tools for optimising corrugated board production, new developments in corrugated machinery as well as analogue and digital printing. Mondi’s trading partner Inter-Papier, which is active in the worldwide import and export of forest products, organised the event.

As part of Mondi’s three-level technical sales service offer, the seminar was customised for the Mexican market. The first level of the service includes foundational seminars aimed at large audiences, while the second level addresses country-specific issues with local seminars that equip customers for their marketplaces. The third level aims to share technical expertise with tailor-made consultations at customer sites.

Isaac Rivera, development and new projects manager at leading Mexican corrugated board producer Grupac, commented, “I really enjoyed the fact that these presentations were so production-oriented and showed real life examples. In particular, we learned how important temperature and humidity control is along the corrugating process and that there are a variety of affordable tricks we can use to improve productivity. Most of the lectures were given by technical experts, rather than sales people, which meant that Mondi was able to respond to all of our technical questions immediately. Usually, in seminars, most of these questions remain unanswered. I appreciate this tailored support from Mondi, which also demonstrates its interest in developing a long-term relationship with our company.”
