Metsä Board has confirmed is investing in the finishing operations at its Kemi mill in Finland with the modernisation of the board machine winder.
The investment will be implemented during the mill’s annual maintenance shutdown in October and November 2026 and is designed to improve product quality, production efficiency and supply chain reliability.
“This winder modernisation strengthens our finishing operations and supports our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality products to our customers,” said Tomi Seppä, VP, Kemi Board Mill. “At the same time, it improves operational stability and ensures dependable deliveries.”
The Kemi mill has an annual production capacity of approximately 465,000 tonnes of coated white-top kraftliner. Metsä Board said the investment will strengthen the mill’s finishing operations and support consistent quality and reliable deliveries to customers worldwide.
