McQuillan Environmental sought a solution to efficiently process large volumes of recyclable materials, including paper, cardboard, HDPE, PET, and aluminium cans. Their key goals were to reduce operating costs, including wire and energy consumption.
A second goal from McQuillan’s was to improve handling and transportation more efficiently to lower the environmental impact and ultimately, reduce their carbon emissions. Finally, managing multiple recyclable materials with minimal downtime and increase throughput, whilst also improving bale density.
The company turned to CK International, who supplied a TR121 twin ram baler, which is designed for flexibility, making it ideal for operations that handle a variety of materials. Its advanced design allows for quick and clean transitions between different material types without the risk of cross-contamination, ensuring highquality bales for each waste stream.
CK International supplied the TR121 complete with a bale stamper ram, baler management system, and in-floor feed conveyor, with the understanding that it would integrate with the customer’s existing equipment to ensure a seamless installation.
“Since we have installed the CK baler, we have significantly reduced our baling times, decreased our wire spend and increased our container weights. We have a 25% increase in our overall efficiency as well as reducing our carbon emissions in line with our sustainable goals. CK international have been extremely easy to work with and have supported us at every stage of the process,” confirmed Ronan McQuillan.
