McDonald’s launches pilot project with LitterLotto to reduce litter on the streets

LitterLotto, the behaviour change app, is now expanding to Switzerland and partnering with McDonald’s Switzerland to help ensure the natural beauty and cleanliness of the country is retained.

McDonald’s Switzerland has been committed for many years to a clean environment and to ensuring that litter is disposed of correctly. McDonald’s crew members go on a daily clean-up around the restaurants and McDonald’s commits 74,000 working hours to this every year. All of this is in line with their motto of ‘Together we make a difference’.

Both LitterLotto and McDonald’s Switzerland believe that good deeds should be rewarded and so all people need to do is to bin litter responsibly and they get a chance to win some amazing prizes through the LitterLotto app. There are thousands of Instant prizes (CHF 2.50) available each month and a guaranteed monthly jackpot of CHF 1,000.00.

On 17th September Clean-Up Day is taking place and all of McDonald’s guests are once again invited to join in, there will also be an extra special jackpot of CHF 3,000 up for grabs.

Aglaë Strachwitz, Managing Director, McDonald’s Switzerland, said, “We too love making sure that our streets are clean and that nature is protected, which is why we are supporting LitterLotto with an exclusive three-month partnership to launch their app in Switzerland. Together, we want to encourage the public to do even more for our environment in a playful and rewarding way.”

Simon Jacobs, CMO, LitterLotto, added, ”We can’t wait to take off with LitterLotto in Switzerland and thanks to McDonald’s we are moving another step closer to our goal of eliminating litter from the planet. We hope that everyone in Switzerland downloads LitterLotto and gets rewarded for their efforts in ensuring our planet is protected.”
