Marpak Achieves Significant Accreditation

In January this year Leicester, England-based carton finishing specialist, Marpak, achieved certification for both the Pharmaceutical Quality Group’s (PQG) PS 9000:2016 application standard and the British Retail Consortium’s (BRC) Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials. Matt Wheeler, the company’s Managing Director comments, “It is no mean feat that our team here at Marpak was able to achieve both PS 9000 and BRC at the same time.

“The key to achieving these standards was introducing the procedures slowly over a period of time. This has ensured they have become part of every team members’ DNA and are now second nature to them. These certifications give our customers confidence of a more ‘seamless’ integration of our services within their supply chain.”

PS 9000:2016 is a Quality standard developed by the PQG to define specific requirements and guidance for Good Manufacturing Practice relating to the manufacture of packaging materials for medicinal products, including orally inhaled and nasal drug products. The BRC Global Standard for Food Packaging Materials Certification demonstrates conformance with requirements in the areas of organisation, hazard and risk management systems, technical management systems, factory standards, contamination control and personnel.
