Marbach celebrates its 100th company anniversary this year. After various activities, the highlight of the anniversary year was on the 8th July, with an employee celebration.
In bright sunshine, numerous employees and their families could celebrate the 100th anniversary; 1,800 guests came to the celebration which was themed “Marbach Film Festival”.
Tina Dost, Marketing Manager, says, “We had come up with a special program for this special day. Because our employees are our capital, every single one of them is involved so that we can celebrate the 100th anniversary. And for this it was important to say thank you.”
At 4 p.m. the event started with numerous activities around the topic Hollywood. The company parking lot was transformed into a festival area on this day. A huge umbrella spanned the seating areas.
There was a large stage on the festival grounds, and many food trucks catered to the guests. In addition to various movie requisites – including a Delorean from the 1980s film “Back to the Future” – guests could admire the 35m long bouncy castle. With various Hollywood hands-on activities, the young and old guests were not bored.
At 6 pm, the first highlight: the 100-year cake was cut. Those who were quick were able to grab a piece. At 8:30pm the big show program started. Here, too, Marbach had spared no expense and effort and engaged the well-known German TV moderator Ruth Moschner as host. The 2-hour show started with a short welcoming speech by Peter Marbach. He gave a short insight into the company history and thanked the employees. Of course, the mayor of Heilbronn, Harry Mergel, did not miss the opportunity to address a few words of greeting to the guests.
Followed by breathtaking artistic performances of different artists, further highlights came one after the other: after the new Marbach image film “Performance through the ages” had its premiere at the film festival, the Marbach jubilarians of the year (10, 25 and 40 years of company affiliation) were honoured with an Oscar for their contributions.
But that was not all: as befits a real film festival, a film award was also handed out.
Dost continues, “In May, we made three different short films with some of our employees: a superhero film, a mafia film and a film based on the Great Gatsby. The three films were presented on our intranet in May. All employees were able to vote for which film should receive the Marbach Film Award at our anniversary celebration. Every employee had the chance to be part of the jury.” The mafia theme film won and the actors received an Oscar at the event.
Dost concludes, “This celebration showed that we not only attach great importance to performance in our tools and services, but also in our celebrations. Once again, many thanks to all employees and all guests for the last 100 years of Marbach. Also, to all supporters of our celebration. And of course, to all customers who have accompanied us through the last 10 decades. Let’s start the next 100 years together.”
