Komori at drupa 2024

Komori has confirmed it will exhibit at drupa 2024, after an eight-year hiatus. During these eight years, the speed of social change has increased, consumption patterns have shifted, and outlooks have undergone significant transformations.

“We are determined to evolve towards the future while adapting to the changes of the times. Over the next 100 years, we will continue to develop new technologies and products that surpass expectations along with appropriate and prompt service to deliver Kando ‘beyond expectations’,” states Satoshi Mochida, President and Representative Director.

At drupa 2024, under the theme of Connected Automation, Komori will promote automation that maximises customer value and propose solutions that are friendly to both people and the environment in order to make the future sustainable. In addition, they will announce new models within the portfolio of offset presses and digital machines.

The printing industry has undergone rapid change in recent years. The influences of social media, online advertising, rising raw materials and energy prices as well as a shortage of labour, have become critical issues. Moreover, because of spreading global environmental concerns, reducing environmental impact, decarbonisation, and waste management have become urgent challenges,” continues Mochida.

To address these worldwide issues head-on, Komori will show a wide range of technology with the theme of Connected Automation; it is a method that enhances the automation of operations by establishing a production site that links different devices from many sources and removes barriers between processes. The core system, KP-Connect, facilitates visibility, automation, and streamlining of the production site by connecting all equipment, from MIS to prepress, press, and postpress systems. This leads to the optimisation of the entire business, ultimately maximising productivity and profitability.

Furthermore, Komori’s printing presses have been updated to have a low environmental impact. Through improved controls, automation of quality inspections, robot logistics, as well as energy saving and paper waste reduction technologies, Komori promotes the construction of a smart factory that features safe and environmentally friendly operations for everyone.
