CorruCase is India’s first plant to run on harvested solar energy

Khetan Corru Case Pvt. Ltd. has recently become India’s only corrugated facility to run on 80% solar power, using its captive rooftop solar plant.

This captive solar plant was planned since the conceptualization of the new corrugated plant in 2016. The solar plant, which is in its final finishing stage, is the last step before inaugurating the plant at the end of October.

Aside from the solar plant, the company has also taken other steps to promote sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint during the manufacturing process.  All lighting in the plant has been switched to LED bulbs and the boiler is being powered with agro waste instead of conventional fuels like coal, oil or wood. Another step they’ve taken towards sustainability is treating their ink wash water and using the treated water at the site for gardening or other uses.

“We are proud to be the first and the only corrugated box company in India to have been able to achieve this. Our goal is to not just provide sustainable packaging to our customers, but to  produce it in a the most sustainable or eco-friendly manner. We are proud to be the first and the only corrugated box company in India to have been able to achieve this,” says Ayush Khetan, Managing Director at Khetan Corru Case.
