International Paper has confirmed changes to its Executive Leadership Team

International Paper has confirmed changes to its executive leadership team, and named Tim Nicholls as Executive Vice President of IP and president of DS Smith effective April 1. He will report to IP CEO, Andy Silvernail.

Nicholls has more than 30 years of industry experience, including a variety of business and finance leadership roles. He has served as CFO of IP since 2018 and also held that role from 2007-2011. Nicholls also led the IP side of the integration planning for the merger with DS Smith and has served as the interim leader of the combined business in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since the transaction closed in February.

“Tim is an exceptional leader with a passion for people and results,” says Silvernail. “I look forward to working with him in this new leadership role where he can continue to build a strong team that will drive excellence.”

Additionally, Lance Loeffler will join IP as Senior VP and CFO, reporting to Silvernail.

Loeffler has worked in finance, strategy and business leadership roles for more than 25 years, including at UBS Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank Securities and Haliburton. At Halliburton, he was CFO for four years and most recently was senior vice president of the Middle East and North Africa region. “We are thrilled to have Lance join the IP team,” added Silvernail.
