HÖRMANN Intralogistics strategic partnership with Van den Bos Corrugated Machinery

HÖRMANN Intralogistics has confirmed it is entering into a strategic partnership with Van den Bos Corrugated Machinery. The collaboration combines decades of expertise in intralogistics with specialised know-how in corrugated board machine technology.

“Previously, corrugated board manufacturers had to juggle multiple suppliers and manage complex API interfaces,” explains Michael Hoffmann, Sales Manager, HÖRMANN Intralogistics. “With our turnkey solution, they receive everything from a single source for the first time – from high-bay warehouse technology and gentle conveyor systems to intelligent software control.

The innovative concept comprises three core components: modern high-bay warehouses with integrated shipping areas, conveyor technology specifically developed for corrugated board formats, and the modular HiLIS warehouse management system, which centrally controls all processes.

The partnership builds on projects already successfully implemented. A two-aisle high-bay warehouse with a capacity of 40 LU/h in incoming goods and 65 LU/h in outgoing goods is currently being implemented at Dunapack Mosburger Packaging in Straßwalchen, Austria. The project at Palm Wellpappe in Alzenau, Germany, demonstrates the system’s performance with a storage capacity of 2.0 million square meters for sheet stock and 41,800 net storage locations for finished goods.

The heart of the turnkey solution is the HiLIS Warehouse Management System from HÖRMANN Intralogistics. “Our WMS is fully vertically integrated – from the ERP interface to the PLC level,” adds Hoffmann. “In the future, we will also be able to offer a particularly high-performance “off-the-shelf” version for the specific requirements of the corrugated board industry.”

Van den Bos CM complements the solution with its expertise in corrugated board processing. “As a family business with a passion for our craft, we develop customized, material-friendly plastic belt conveyor technology for paper products,” explains Paul van den Bos, Managing Director. “Integrated into Hörmann’s intralogistics concept, we can ensure a seamless material flow for corrugated board and packaging manufacturers.”

The turnkey solutions are available now and will be presented at the FEFCO Technical Seminar 2025 in Rome (October 8-10) at booth E21/22.
