Holmen has expanded its Incada paperboard range with the introduction of Incada Duo, a laminated folding boxboard available in higher calipers for premium packaging applications.
The Incada paperboard range was introduced in October 2001 and is manufactured at Holmen’s Workington mill in the UK, using fresh fibres of known and traceable origin. The board is designed to combine stiffness, low weight and high yield, helping to reduce fibre consumption and transportation weight compared with heavier alternatives.
The latest addition, Incada Duo, is a UK-produced laminated folding boxboard available in grammages ranging from 430 to 710 gsm. The product has been developed to provide increased thickness and stiffness while maintaining print quality for high-end packaging applications.
“Incada Duo suits high-end packaging applications where visual impact and material efficiency are essential,” said Edvin Thurfjell, Product Manager, Holmen Board and Paper. “Our laminated construction combines multiple fibre layers to deliver exceptional thickness and a powerful shelf presence.”
According to Holmen, all raw materials used in the production of Incada are approved for food contact. The board’s outer layers consist of white chemical sulphate pulp with fully coated surfaces designed to provide consistent print reproduction and visual appearance.
“Thanks to the well-balanced behaviour of our Incada base board, we can extend the portfolio into higher calipers,” said Mark Browne, Account Manager UK and Ireland, Holmen Board and Paper. “This is important across many markets, but Incada Duo is particularly well suited to premium beverages, cosmetics, confectionery, gift packs and other luxury consumer goods.”
