Grupo Hinojosa have purchased the production units belonging to the packaging solutions group made up of Demco and Edihor. The acquisition enables them to widen their range of products and services as well as expanding their presence in Catalonia, which is one of the main markets for corrugated in Spain and Portugal.
The transaction, which has been carried out as part of the bankruptcy procedure which these companies are undergoing, was completed on 15th July 2019. In addition to taking over the assets of these factories, Hinojosa has taken on their contracts and commitments and has undertaken to keep on the 101 employees of the two companies, to develop the plant and integrate the teams into the group’s structure. Demco-Edihor have a joint turnover of €15m.
Located in Cardedeu (Barcelona), Demco specialises in the manufacture of corrugated packaging solutions. The company, which also operates in France, develops a wide range of technical products. Edihor is a packaging distributor.
With this acquisition, Hinojosa meets the growing needs of its customers who are investing in online sales.
