Grembox invests €26m in new corrugated packaging facility

Polish packaging manufacturer Grembox has started construction of a new corrugated packaging plant in Bytom, southern Poland, marking a significant expansion of its production capacity.

The company is investing more than PLN110m (€26m) in the facility, which will be located within the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE). The project is intended to support Grembox’s growing e-commerce operations and expand its presence in the Polish packaging market.

The new facility will be built on a 4.6-hectare site and will include an 11,000 sqm production and warehouse building, together with office and employee facilities. Construction is expected to be completed next year, with commissioning planned by the end of 2027, according to Mateusz Bochenek, CEO.

The new plant – which will be a sheet plant – is expected to produce between 40 and 50 million sqm of corrugated packaging annually and create approximately 70 to 80 jobs.

Grembox said the investment is primarily aimed at supporting its e-commerce business. The company states that it operates the largest online packaging store in Poland. The expansion is intended to meet increasing demand from online retail customers and improve distribution efficiency. The project is also receiving financial support through the European Union’s FENG programme.

Grembox acquired the Bytom site in 2024 and outlined a two-phase development plan. The first phase focuses on establishing the packaging production facility, while the second phase will expand warehousing capacity and integrate manufacturing and e-commerce operations into a single logistics hub. Once completed, the Bytom site is expected to become one of Poland’s largest packaging centres serving the e-commerce sector.
