Golf day raises £7,500 for injured military personnel charity

A charity golf day hosted by Bobst UK & Ireland, raised £7,500 for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Benevolent Fund.

Held at Redditch Golf Club and supported by event sponsors, 17 teams comprising Bobst employees, suppliers, partners and customers, played the course followed by a two-course dinner, raffle and auction – all in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

Bobst has supported DMRC for the past four years and has raised more than £67,500 for the charity in that time through a range of events and fundraising activities. DMRC provides serving Armed Forces men and women with specialist goods and services while undertaking mental and physical rehabilitation programmes at the Ministry of Defence facility, Stanford Hall, in the Midlands.

Doris Morrison, Finance Director, Bobst UK & Ireland, said, “It is an amazing amount of money to have raised and we are thrilled that year after year, we have been able to hand over cheques to DMRC with ever higher figures. It really is testament to the work that the charity does and to all those who support the golf day whether playing, sponsoring holes, contributing to the raffle and auction or paying the ‘joke fines of the day’. Planning is already underway for next year’s charity golf day on 30th June, 2022, at Redditch Golf Club. Anyone interested in taking part and supporting the fantastic DMRC Benevolent Fund cause should get in touch and book a place early.”
